OPEN SESSION - 7:30 PM:
BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES ANNUAL MEETING - File 9-2-3
CANAL LEARNING CENTER:
Library Director Stratford and other Library staff updated the Council and the Library
Board on the progress of the Canal Learning Center.
EXPANDED LIBRARY HOURS:
Council and Board discussed and evaluated the option of opening on Sunday from 12:00
PM to 4:00 PM versus the option of restoring Monday Service from 1:00 PM to 9:00
PM. The consensus of the Council and the Board was a preference for restoring Monday
service. Director Stratford was directed by Council to bring a report to Council
regarding expanded Library hours for the Council meeting of October 19th.
PROPOSED CITY INFORMATION KIOSK/LIBRARY KIOSK IN NORTHGATE MALL:
The Council and the Board discussed this idea. Both the Council and Board agreed
on the concept of an information kiosk at the Mall staffed by a volunteer, with
a public access computer connected to the MARINet catalog, and a drop-off and pick-up
point for library materials. Library Director Stratford will work with Assistant
City Manager Suzanne Golt and the City Hall in the Mall Committee to move this proposal
forward.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM.
