DOWNTOWN PARKING - File R-140 #8 x (SRCC) 140 (Verbal) Chairman Boro noted a recent Letter to the Editor in the marin Independent Journal concerning the Redevelopment Agency's history, questioning certain areas of the Agency's past performance, and erroneously stating the Redevelopment Agency was going to eliminate 400 parking spaces in the Downtown Area. Mr. Ours clarified the Agency would actually be adding parking spaces. Chairman Boro asked that the Agency answer those relevant questions, particularly as we go forward in our application and discussion with the County concerning an infusion of new funds into the Agency. b. BRANDON TIRE - File R-368 x R-140 #8 x (SRCC) 140 (Verbal) Member Cohen asked for an update on the situation with Brandon Tire. Economic Development Director Ours reported the Agency purchased this property last year, and renegotiated the leases, informing the occupants they would have to vacate the premises in the near future. He reported John Brandon has been using this property for approximately twenty years, and has operated in many ways that are not allowed under the terms of the lease, such as allowing businesses to be run out of trailers on the property, improper storage, and people living in trailers on the property. Mr. Ours reported that Mr. Brandon was told to clean up the property, and was informed the Agency would work with him to provide access to his business. Mr. Ours stated Mr. Brandon was currently using the property as access to his business, but had moved almost everything off the property. Mr. Ours explained the Agency is waiting for P.G.& E. to come in and site the telephone poles for the Fair, Isaac project, and then the Mahon Creek project will be designed, to determine where the park line will be. He stated the Agency would continue to try to help in providing access to Mr. Brandon's business, and when it has been determined where the poles are going to be, as well as the location of the flood control project, the Agency will work with Mr. Brandon on the issue of access to his business. There being no further business to come before the Redevelopment Agency, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 PM.
