SPECIAL JOINT PUBLIC HEARING - TO CONSIDER COMMITTING FUNDS TO THE SAN RAFAEL
SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SCHOOL FACILITIES AND TAKING RELATED
ACTION

1. SAN RAFAEL REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
Chairman Boro declared the public hearing opened, and asked for the staff
report.
Economic Development Director Jake Ours reported this item stemmed from the
1995 bond issue, at which time the Redevelopment Agency negotiated a series
of monitoring settlements with the School District. Mr. Ours explained
this was the final phase, and the School District was requesting the last
of the monies the Redevelopment Agency had been holding since 1995 for
school projects. Mr. Ours reported the total to be given to the schools
was over $2 million, and this final phase represented $700,000.
Mr. Ours stated the schools were doing some very good things with this
money, such as roofs, facility repairs, swimming pool repairs, and a
computer lab, and he was pleased the Agency could work with the schools in
this way. He stated staff recommends the Agency act favorably on this
item.
Chairman Boro invited public comment.
There being no public comment, Chairman Boro closed the public hearing.
Member Miller moved and member Phillips seconded, to adopt the Resolution.
RESOLUTION NO. 98-33 - RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY MAKING FINDINGS REQUIRED BY HEALTH AND SAFETY
CODE SECTION 33445, COMMITTING FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF CERTAIN SCHOOL FACILITIES AND TAKING RELATED
ACTIONS.
AYES: MEMBERS: Heller, Miller, Phillips & Chairman Boro
NOES: MEMBERS: None
ABSENT: MEMBERS: Cohen
2. SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
Mayor Boro declared the public hearing opened, and invited public comment.
There being no public comment, Mayor Boro closed the public hearing.
Councilmember Phillips moved and Councilmember Heller seconded, to adopt
the Resolution.
RESOLUTION NO. 10333 - RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL MAKING
FINDINGS REQUIRED BY HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION
33445, COMMITTING FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN
SCHOOL FACILITIES AND TAKING RELATED ACTIONS.

NOES: COUNCIL ERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCIL ERS: Cohen
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
