A D.M 1 N 1$ T.R A T 0 R Angela Nicholson ASSISTANT COUNTY RE: Extension to County of Marin of Option to Purchase 30 Joseph Court ADMINISTRATOR Dear Jim: Marin County Civic Center 3501 Civic Center Drive Pursuant to our discussions, the County of Marin has expressed interest in Suite 325 purchasing the City -owned property at 30 Joseph Court ("Property"). This option San Rafael, CA 94903 was granted to the County in Section 2 of the lease agreement dated June 21, 2016 415 473 6358 T in which the County leased the land for Fire Station #57 to be constructed by the City 415 473 4104 F ("Option"). CRS Dial 711 www.marincounty.org/cao The County is engaged in due diligence review surrounding the Property and has spent over $50,000 to date on technical studies and analysis of the building. The County expects to have the due diligence completed sometime in first quarter of the year 2021. Given that the City of San Rafael's Fire Department moved into Fire Station #57 in November 2019 (November 19, 2019 was the date of the Grand Opening Ceremony), the County would not be able to finalize the purchase of the Property, under the terms of the Option, in November 2020. The County is requesting a six-month extension of the Option until May 19, 2021 in order to complete its due diligence and exercise the Option to acquire the Property should it determine to move forward.
