1. INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS AND APPOINTMENTS TO FILL TWO, FOUR-YEAR
TERMS ON THE SAN RAFAEL DESIGN REVIEW BOARD, WITH TERMS TO
EXPIRE END OF JUNE 2009 (CC) - FILE 9-2-39
Council interviewed the following applicants:
Ann Crew Jeff Kent Jacek Machnowski
Following discussion, Councilmember Heller moved and Councilmember Cohen seconded, to
reappoint Ann Crew and Jeff Kent to fill two four-year terms on the San Rafael Design Review
Board, with terms to expire end of June, 2009.

Following discussion, Councilmember Cohen moved and Councilmember Miller seconded, to
appoint Jacek Machnowski to a four-year term as Alternate on the San Rafael Design Review Board,
with term to expire end of June, 2009.

At the request of Councilmember Cohen, staff to explore Ordinance modification that would allow
Alternate to participate in a Design Review Board meeting in the absence of a Board Member, not
merely due to lack of a quorum.
2. INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS AND APPOINTMENTS TO FILL TWO, FOUR-YEAR
TERMS ON THE SAN RAFAEL PLANNING COMMISSION, WITH TERMS TO
EXPIRE END OF JUNE 2009 (CC) - FILE 9-2-6
Council interviewed the following applicants:
Gerald Belletto Barbara Lynch Iraj Zolnasr
Kate Colin Charles Pick
Applicant Michael W. Whipple unable to attend interview.
After discussion, Councilmember Cohen moved and Councilmember Miller seconded, to
appoint Kate Colin to fill one, four-year term on the San Rafael Planning Commission, with term to
expire end of June, 2009.
