Resolution authorizing closure of Downtown City Streets for the 17th Annual San
Rafael Sunset Criterium (formerly the Twilight Criterium) on Saturday, July 25, 2015
from 11:45 am to 10:00pm
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Sunset Criterium will occur in Downtown San Rafael on July 25th, 2015; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has determined and
recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian and auto traffic in the downtown
area, the streets shown below should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the date and times as
specified below:
STREET CLOSURE: Streets to be closed, Saturday, July 25, 2015 for times shown below:
11:45 a.m. to 9:30 o.m.
1. "C" Street from Third Street to Mission Avenue
12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m.
1. Fourth Street from Lootens Place to `B" Street
2. `B" Street from Fourth Street to Fifth Ave.
12:30 a.m. to 9:30 o.m.
1. Fourth Street from "A" Street to "D" Street
3. "A" Street from Third Street to Mission Avenue
4. `B" Street from Third Street to Fourth St. and Fifth Avenue to Mission Avenue
5. "D" Street from Third Street to Fifth Avenue
1:00 n.m. to 9:30 p.m.
1. Fifth Avenue from Court Street to "D" Street
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That all of the above findings are true and correct;
2. That, pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code section 21101(e), for the safety and protection of
persons, both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council hereby authorizes the temporary
closure of the above listed streets for the date and times described above.
I, ESTHER C. BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San
Rafael, held on Monday, the eighteenth day of May, 2015, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Bushey, Colin, Gamblin, McCullough & Mayor Phillips
NOES: Councilmembers: None
ABSENT: Councilmembers: None
