HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 13934 (Blues & BBQ Festival)RESOLUTION NO. 13934 Resolution authorizing temporary closure of Downtown City streets to accommodate Great American Blues & Barbeque Festival event on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. WHEREAS, the Great American Blues and BBQ Festival will occur in Downtown San Rafael on July 191h, 2015; and WHEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has determined and recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian and auto traffic in the downtown area, the streets shown below should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the date and times as specified below: STREET CLOSURE: Streets to be closed on July 19, 2015 from 6:30am to 9:00pm: 1. Fourth Street from Cijos Street to A Street 2. Lootens Place from City parking structure entry to Fifth Avenue THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 1. That all of the above findings are true and correct; 2. That, pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code section 21101(e), for the safety and protection of persons, both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council hereby authorizes the temporary closure of the above listed streets for the date and times described above.
