RESOWTION OF 11PPRECUITION
TO
SAN RAFAEL PACIFICS
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Pacifics Baseball Club brings family fun to Downtown San
Rafael, attracting spectators from all over Marin County and beyond for 40 days of
baseball over three summer months; and
WHEREAS, San Rafael Pacifics Baseball Club established The Pacifics Foundation to
bring sports and education to underserved youth groups, and the players support our
community by making appearances at local schools, libraries, community events, senior
centers and fundraisers; and
WHEREAS, the Pacifics were recognized as the 2015 San Rafael Chamber of
Commerce "large business of the year" for serving as an ambassador for the city,
contributing to the vitality and economy of Downtown, and supporting the community;
and
WHEREAS, this year's fun promotional nights and weekends such as: Two Fer
Tuesday, Pacifics Women's Wednesday, Friday Night Concerts in the Cove, Throw Like
A Girl Day, Bark in the Park Day, Kids Day at the Ballpark, Grateful Dead 50th
Anniversary Weekend Celebration, Fan Appreciation Day, Casino Night, Hispanic
Heritage Night, Back to the Future Night, kept the crowds coming back for more exciting
Pacifics' baseball; and
WHEREAS, on Monday, August 31, 2015, the San Rafael Pacifics won their second
straight league title in a walk -off win versus the Sonoma Stompers, finishing the 2015
season with a 29-11 record.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Rafael
does hereby express its sincere congratulations to the San Rafael Pacifics on another
fun -filled Championship sIason.
