HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 14039 (Sell Two Motorcycles) RESOLUTION NO. 14039 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL TWO SURPLUS POLICE MOTORCYCLES, VEHICLES #155 AND #201, TO THE CENTRAL MARIN POLICE AUTHORITY FOR $10,000 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has two surplus police motorcycles, vehicle #155 and #201, and the vehicles were part of and funded from Replacement Fund; and WHEREAS, there is a very limited market for such equipped Police Department motorcycles; and WHEREAS , the Central Marin Police Authority has offered to purchase the motorcycles for its police department for $10,000, which is expected to be more than the City would obtain for the motorcycles at auction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that competitive bidding for the sale of this surplus equipment is waived, pursuant to San Rafael Municipal Code Section 2.55.070(D), and the City Manager is hereby authorized to take such actions necessary to accomplish the sale of police motorcycle #155 and #201 to the Central Marin Police Authority Fund. I, ESTHER BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on the 7th day of December, 2015, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Bushey, Colin, Gamblin, McCullough & Mayor Phillips NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ESTHER BEIRNE, City Clerk 2
