PRESENTS THIS
RESOUTION OF 11PPRECULTION
TO
LESLIE BLOMQUIST
WHEREAS, Leslie began her career with the City of San Rafael Public Works Department in January of 2008;
and
WHEREAS, Leslie is professional, exceptionally skilled and exhibits the sound judgment necessary to juggle
and complete multiple, complex and frequently overlapping tasks; and
WHEREAS, Leslie is a frighteningly efficient and productive project manager, to a degree that leaves the rest of
us wondering "how did she do all that"; and
WHEREAS, Leslie exhibited her ability to achieve more than one could reasonably expect by obtaining her
Traffic Engineering license in addition to her Civil Engineering license and managing the
completion of more than 18 projects from 2010 to 2012 with reduced staffing; and
WHEREAS, Leslie continues to be a beacon of inspiration to the City by consistently leaming more about how
to complete the work she is assigned, even if she has not designed or implemented such a project
in the past; and
WHEREAS, Leslie's ability to understand and execute the innumerable State and Federal forms required for
virtually every engineering project, daunting in and of itself, is legendary even among jaded State
bureaucrats, who question her submittals at their professional peril; and
WHEREAS, Leslie is a highly skilled grant writer, securing millions of dollars for capital projects with benefits for
pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and literally every neighborhood in San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Leslie has established excellent relationships with her co-workers and is recognized for her abilities
as an insightful engineer and a key member of the Public Works Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael do hereby
extend their congratulations and appreciation to Leslie Blomquist as Employee of the Quarter for the 2nd quarter of
2012.
