RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE ITALIAN STREET
PAINTING MARIN ON JUNE 26, 2013 -JULY 1, 2013
WHEREAS, the Italian Street Painting Marin necessitates the temporary closure of City streets as
specified below:
1. Fifth Avenue from B Street to Court Street Wednesday, June 26`h' 2013 at 10:00 a.m. to
Monday, July 1", 2013, at 4:00 p.m. for production and event.
2. Julia Street and A Street from Wednesday, June 26`h' 2013 at 8:00 a.m. until Monday, July I",
2013 at 4:30 p.m., for production and event.
Tenant access to parking lots on Julia Street will be available throughout the event.
3. City Plaza will be available as an event/event sponsor Information area beginning Friday, June
28th, 2013 for set up and ending Sunday evening, June 30`h, 2013. No street painting will take
place in the San Rafael City Plaza. Public access to businesses will be maintained during event
hours. and
WHEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has determined
and recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian and auto traffic in the
Downtown area, the above street(s) should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the date and
times described above.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That all of the above findings are true and correct;
2. That, pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code section 21101(e), for the safety and protection
of persons, both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council hereby authorizes the
temporary closure of the above listed streets for the date and times described above.

Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of San Rafael, held on Monday, the fifteenth day of April, 2013, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Colin, Connolly, Heller, McCullough & Mayor Phillips
NOES: Councilmembers: None
ABSENT: Councilmembers: None
