RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE 2ND ANNUAL AUTISTRY FAIRE:
CARDBOARD CARNIVAL ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27TH, 2013 ON 37 DUFFY PLACE FROM IRWIN
STREET, 8AM-7PM
WHEREAS, the 2"a Annual Autistry Faire: Cardboard Carnival on Sunday, October 27th, 2013 on 37
Duffy Place necessitates the temporary closure of Duffy Place as specified below:
1. Duffv Place from Irwin Street from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
WHEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has determined and
recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian and auto traffic in the downtown
area, the above street should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the date and times described above.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That all of the above findings are true and correct;
2. That, pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code section 21101(e), for the safety and protection of
persons, both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council hereby authorizes the temporary
closure of the above listed street for the date and times described above.

was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San
Rafael, held on Monday, the sixteenth day of September, 2013, by the following vote, to wit:

Dear Brian,
Thank you for your help and advice on Autistry's fall event — the Autistry Faire: Cardboard
Carnival. Below is a short description of our event and I have also attached a map of the Duffy
Place showing the location of our booths.
2nd Annual Autistry Faire: Cardboard Carnival
Date: Sunday, October 27, 2013
Time: 12-4 p.m.
Where: 37 Duffy Place, San Rafael
The Autistry Faire is a fundraising event supporting Autistry Studios, a nonprofit organization
offering pre -vocational programs that promote growth and independence for teens and adults
with Autism, Asperger's or other similar challenges.
The Faire will feature carnival games, food booths, live music, and a 40' racetrack for radio
controlled cars. We expect between 200 — 250 people of all ages to attend.
We will ask the San Rafael City Counsel for permission to close Duffy Place from 37 to the end of
the street on Sunday, Oct 27th beginning at lam until 8pm.
We will erect a 20'x 30' tent in the rear parking lot of Easy Automotive. The lot is located across
from 45 Duffy Place.
Please see the attached map for the location of other booths.
