MARIN ACADEMY
WHEREAS, Marin Academy is an independent, co-educational, college preparatory
high school recognized as an innovative school with a blend of rigorous
college preparation and distinguished performing and visual arts; and
WHEREAS, Marin Academy participated in the inaugural Greening for Profit business
sustainability program; and
WHEREAS, Marin Academy has developed a Sustainability Plan, one element of
which is to implement the 5-5-5 plan to reduce their environmental
footprint in five areas by five percent each year for five years totaling
25%; and
WHEREAS, Marin Academy has identified other means of increasing
sustainability in their business practices from the Greening for Profit
program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the
City of San Rafael hereby commend and recognize Marin Academy for participating in
the Greening for Profit program and being a leader in business sustainability.
