SAN RAFAEL CITY SCHOOLS
WHEREAS, San Rafael City Schools operates several local elementary schools, two
middle schools, three high schools and runs numerous other public
educational programs in San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, San Rafael City Schools participated in the inaugural Greening for Profit
business sustainability program; and
WHEREAS, San Rafael City Schools has developed a Sustainability Plan, one element
of which is to replace lighting fixtures in their gym to more energy-
efficient models, and install lighting sensors in high security areas to
reduce electricity use; and
WHEREAS, San Rafael City Schools has identified other means of increasing
sustainability in their business practices from the Greening for Profit
program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the
City of San Rafael hereby commend and recognize San Rafael City Schools for
participating in the Greening for Profit program and being a leader in business
sustainability.
