PRESENTS THIS
SAN RAFAEL FIRE & PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENTS
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Fire and Public Works departments are valuable City
departments that serve the community in a variety of ways; and
WHEREAS, both departments participated in the inaugural Greening for Profit business
sustainability program; and
WHEREAS, the departments have developed a Sustainability Plan, one element of
which is to increase energy -efficiency by updating lighting fixtures and
bulbs, and installing a new HVAC system at City Hall, which will create
significant annual energy savings; and
WHEREAS, the two departments have identified other means of increasing
sustainability in their business practices from the Greening for Profit
program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the
City of San Rafael hereby commend and recognize the San Rafael Fire and Public Works
departments for participating in the Greening for Profit program and being leaders in
sustainability practices.
