RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CITY STREETS FOR
THE FOURTH ANNUAL SAN RAFAEL MILE ON SUNDAY, JULY 15, 2012
FROM 6 A.M. TO 10 A.M.
WHEREAS, the Fourth Annual San Rafael Mile necessitates the temporary closure of City
streets July 15`", 2012 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. as specified below:
1) Fifth Avenue from A Street to Lootens Place (controlled intermittent)
2) Fourth Street from Cijos St. to E St.
3) Lootens Pl. from Third Street to Fifth Ave.
4) "B" Street from Parking Structure driveway to Fifth Avenue
5) "C" Street from Parking Structure driveway to Fifth Avenue
6) "D" Street from Third Street to Fifth Ave.
WHEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has
determined and recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian and
auto traffic the above listed streets should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the date
and times described above.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That all of the above findings are true and correct;
2. That, pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code Section 21101(e), for the safety and
protection of persons, both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council hereby
authorizes the temporary closure of the above listed streets for the date and times described
above.

foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of San Rafael, held on Monday, the seventh day of May, 2012 by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Connolly, Heller, Levine, McCullough & Mayor Phillips
NOES: Councilmembers: ':done
ABSENT: Councilmembers: gone
