CYNTHIA P. FOX
WHEREAS, Cindy Fox has tirelessly worked for the City of San Rafael, Childcare Division for 311h years
dedicating her entire self to the wellbeing and education of thousands of our City's children;
and
WHEREAS, Cindy Fox began her career in 1981, in the Pre -K Program at Short School Children's Center
teaching and leading other teachers of young children; and
WHEREAS, Cindy Fox founded the Toddler Program at Don Timoteo Preschool, inspiring young minds to
be creative thinkers and explorers of their worlds; and
WHEREAS, Cindy Fox established Vallecito School Children's Center, guiding children and inspiring a
generation of teachers who also went on to be leaders in the field of Early Childhood Education;
and
WHEREAS, Cindy Fox, for 14 years, worked as an educator and mentor, as Director of the Pickleweed
Children's Center, where she humbly served Canal Neighborhood families, providing language,
school readiness, academic and social growth opportunities to preschool and school age
students in two distinguished programs; and
WHEREAS, Cindy Fox continually and steadfastly aspired to grow as a teacher and role model for other
teachers, in her relationship with the Marin Association for the Education of Young Children
serving as President and Secretary of the Board; and
WHEREAS, Cindy Fox inspired and delighted her colleagues and students with her free spirit, love of
adventure, and joyous sense of humor, her rap songs, poetry, and parodies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby
congratulate Cynthia P. Fox on her valued and meaningful career, with best wishes for a long and satisfying
retirement.
