Employee of the Third Quarter 2412
WHEREAS, Helen first came to San Rafael as an auditor with the City's CPA firm and after finishing the
audit she applied for an Accountant Position and became a permanent employee on
December 29, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Helen is a highly competent accountant who works on complex financial projects, audits,
grants and general accounting. Her extensive knowledge and attention to detail has assisted
Public Works with the management of millions of dollars of their capital projects, the former
Redevelopment Agency with its complex dissolution requirements, and all departments with
their budgets, grants and audits; and
WHEREAS, Helen not only knows how to work with numbers and spreadsheets, but can explain those
mysteries to those less comfortable with accounting. She is never too busy to help and if she
doesn't know the answer, she will research it; and
WHEREAS, Helen not only works long hours but her love of growth and knowledge has resulted in her
graduation from the Citizens Police Academy, Community Development Planning
Academy, CERT, the San Rafael Leadership Institute and her voluntary attendance at many
Council meetings; and
WHEREAS, Helen is a wonderful coworker in Finance; her smile greets you in the morning; she is
always supportive and encouraging and volunteers to take on more as needed; she is a true
team player; and
WHEREAS, Thanksgiving is Helen's favorite holiday and she endeavors to cook every course to
perfection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby designate Helen Yu as t "Employee of the Quarter" for the Third Quarter of 2012, and express
sincere appreciatioIfor her ded cation, professionalism and outstanding service to the City of San Rafael.
