RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING PERSONNEL ACTIONS
TO CREATE THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF SENIOR ACCOUNTANT, SEWER LEAD
MAINTENANCE WORKER, AND VOLUNTEER PROGRAM ASSISTANT, TO RECLASSIFY
ONE ACCOUNTANT II AND TWO SEWER MAINTENANCE WORKER III POSITIONS, TO
CHANGE THE ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR JOB TITLE, AND TO REPLACE ONE
ASSOCIATE ENGINEER POSITION WITH AN ASSISTANT CIVIL ENGINEER POSITION.
WHEREAS, the CITY has had to make significant budget balancing decisions over the
last few years to deal with the impacts of the ongoing national recession; and
WHEREAS, these changes have included reducing the City's workforce resulting in the
need for some positions to assume higher levels of responsibilities and/or to work additional
hours; and
WHEREAS, the personnel actions recommended will address this increase in
responsibilities while taking into consideration staffing needs to meet various City Council
priorities,.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby approves the following personnel actions:
1. Create the classification of Senior Accountant and reclassify one Accountant
I I into the classification of Senior Accountant,
2. Change in the title of Accounting Supervisor to Accounting Manager,
3. Create the classification of Sewer Lead Maintenance Worker and reclassify
two Sewer Maintenance Worker Ills into Sewer Lead Maintenance Workers,
4. Delete one Associate Engineer position and add one Assistant Civil Engineer
position, and
5. Create the classification of regular part-time Volunteer Program Assistant.
I, Esther C. Beirne, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of San Rafael, held on Monday, the 1 gth of November 2012, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Connolly, Heller, Levine, McCullough & Mayor Phillips
NOES: Councilmembers: None
ABSENT: Councilmembers: None
