WHEREAS, BOB SONNENBERG served with distinction on the City of San Rafael ADA
Advisory Committee for six years, from November 2006 until October 2012;
and
WHEREAS, BOB's insights and experiences played a vital role in integrating accessibility
needs into the City's capital project planning culture; and
WHEREAS, BOB consistently offered advice and suggestions sprinkled with equal measures
of pragmatism, compassion and the occasional whiff of dark humor; and
WHEREAS, BOB, during his time on the ADA Committee, was an effective advocate for
people with disabilities while offering practical advice to City staff responsible
for accessibility improvements throughout San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, MR. SONNENBERG, his preferred form of address, is justifiably famous for his
mysterious ability to solicit endless invitations to deliver the coveted ceremonial
first pitch at major league baseball games throughout the country, his failure to
provide tickets to his fellow Committee members notwithstanding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael hereby express their sincere gratitude to BOB SONNENBERG for his six years as a
member of the ADA Access Advisory Committee and his selfless service to the City of San
Rafael and all its citizens.
