RESOLUTION NO. 13094
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF MARIN
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE LAND SURVEYOR
SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department provides land development services;
WIIEREAS, the state Subdivision Map Act contains provisions for processing,
approving and filing Final Maps and Parcel Maps for the subdivision of land; and
WHEREAS, in connection with the above activities, certain duties are required of
the City Engineer or City Surveyor, including certain duties which must be performed
by a person licensed to survey in California; and
WHEREAS, the City may contract for such duties, including the duties of a
licensed land surveyor; and
WHEREAS, the need for these duties is not so extensive as to necessitate the City
employing a licensed land surveyor; and
WHEREAS, the County Surveyor is a County employee and is a land surveyor
licensed under California law to perform the services required by the City; and
WHEREAS, the County is willing to provide such services to the City to the
extent it does not unreasonably interfere with the regular duties of the County
Surveyor, contingent upon the City paying the reasonable costs of the County
Surveyor's office for performing such services on behalf of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San
Rafael that it authorizes the Public Works Director to enter into an Agreement with the
County of Marin Public Works Department to provide land surveyor services in an
amount not to exceed $50,000 in a form to be approved by the City Attorney and
authorizes the Public Works Director to take all necessary actions to complete the
services.

foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting
of the Council of said City on the 18`x' day of January, 2011, by the following vote, to wit:
