HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 13233 (Community Policing)RESOLUTION NO. 13233 RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING USE OF STATE COPS PROGRAM SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICES FUNDS DURING 2011/2012 IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000 FOR COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING Whereas, the Governor of the State of California signed the Budget Act of 2011 which continued the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund and allocated approximately $100,000 to the City of San Rafael for Fiscal Year 2011- 2012; and, Whereas, the Legislature mandated this money be spent for front line law enforcement purposes: and, Whereas, the City Council has set a priority of implementing Community Oriented Public Safety; and, Whereas, the City Council has previously approved the use of SLESF money for police overtime for Community Oriented Policing during the 2011/2012 City budget hearings; and, Whereas, Marin County's Supplemental Law Enforcement Oversight Committee requires a spending plan final approval of fund use. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use of approximately $100,000 in Supplemental Law Enforcement Services funds for police overtime for Community Oriented Policing. I, Esther Beirne, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the San Rafael City Council held on the 6th day of September, 2011 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Brockbank, Connolly, Heller, Levine & Mayor Boro NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None Esther Beirne, City Clerk
