SAN PEDRO ROAD FROM RIVIERA DRIVE TO BISCAYNE DRIVE FOR MARIN COUNTY TRIATHLON ON NOVEMBER 5 FROM 8 TO 10 AM AND ON NOVEMBER 6, 2011 FROM 6:30 AM TO I PM. WHEREAS, the fourth annual Marin County Triathlon necessitates the temporary closure of Point San Pedro Road from Riviera Drive to Biscayne Drive, on Saturday November 5 from 8 to 10 a.m. and on Sunday, November 6 from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and WHEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has determined and recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian and auto traffic in the Peacock Gap area, the above street should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the date and times described above. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 1. That all of the above findings are true and correct. 2. That, pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code section 21101(e), for the safety and protection of persons, both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council hereby authorizes the temporary closure of the above listed street for the date and times described above. I, ESTHER C. BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Rafael, held on Monday, the seventeenth day of October, 2011, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmembers: Brockbank, Connolly, Heller, Levine & Mayor Boro NOES: Councilmembers: None ABSENT: Councilmembers: None ESTHER C.
