A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FIVE MARKED POLICE
VEHICLES (4 CROWN VICTORIA POLICE SEDANS AND 1 FORD SPECIAL SERVICE
POLICE EXPEDITION) FROM FOLSOM LAKE FORD SALES FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF
$127,011.54 AS PART OF CALIFORNIA MULTIPLE AWARD SCHEDULE CONTRACTS
PROGRAM WHICH IS EXEMPT FROM BID PROCESS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, five marked Police Department vehicles are at their replacement time
frames; and
WHEREAS, there are adequate funds in the City's Vehicle Replacement Fund to
purchase replacement vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Fleet Advisory Board has reviewed pricing documents and vehicle life
information and supports replacement of the vehicles in question; and
WHEREAS, the City, as a participant in the California Multiple Award Schedule
Contracts program, also known as State Bids, is exempt from competitive bidding requirements
for these vehicles under San Rafael Municipal Code Section 2.55.260; and
WHEREAS, Folsom Lake Ford is a current approved dealer for the California Multiple
Award Schedule Contracts program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the bids from Folsom Lake Ford Sales for
a total of five marked police Ford vehicles, four Crown Victoria Police Interceptor sedans and 1
Expedition Special Services Police Vehicle at the specified unit prices totaling $127,011.54 are
hereby accepted and that the purchase orders for said vehicles in those amounts are hereby
approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is hereby
authorized to take any and all such actions and make changes as may be necessary to
accomplish the purpose of this Resolution.
1, ESTHER BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
said City on the 7th day of November, 2011, by the following vote, to wit:
