GREG BROCKBANK
WHEREAS, Greg Brockbank has been an engaged and enthusiastic public servant on behalf of the
City of San Rafael for four years; and
WHEREAS, Greg served eighteen years on the College of Marin Board and began his City public
service in December 2007 when he was appointed to serve on the City Council, serving
his final year as Vice Mayor; and
WHEREAS, Greg's tenure while a City Councilmember included his involvement in various
appointed committees and boards including the Association of Bay Area Governments,
Joint Powers Authority Oversight Committee, League of California Cities, North Bay
Division, City/School Liaison Committee, Citizen of the Year Selection Committee,
County Priority -Setting Committee, Farmers' Market Board of Directors Oversight
Committee Council Liaison, Marin Energy Authority, Transportation Authority of
Marin, and Marin County Council of Mayors and Councilmembers Legislative
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Greg consistently championed sustainability goals and was a strong advocate for the
Climate Change Action Plan. He advocated to get people out of their cars to reduce
Greenhouse Gases. He also chaired the Marin Green BERST collaborative which helped
establish strong green building standards; and
WHEREAS, Greg increased citizen involvement in the City of San Rafael and attended countless
community meetings such as the monthly staff meetings with the Federation of San
Rafael Neighborhoods and the North San Rafael Coalition of Residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby extend their gratitude to Councilmember Greg Brockbank for four years of service to our
residents, businesses, neighborhoods, organizations and City staff, which are all part of the San Rafael
community.
