SAN RAFAEL DESIGN REVIEW BOARD
WHEREAS, Richard (Dick) Olmsted served on the San Rafael Design Review Board for a
total of I t years, from 1989 to 1997 and from 2007 to 2010; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, the Design Review Board reviewed many important projects
which will positively impact the City for many decades including Bret Harte
Estates, Terra Linda Highlands, Montevideo, Regency Center Phase 1I, San
Rafael Corporate Center, Toyota Marin renovation, Mount Tamalpais Cemetery
50 -Year Master Plan, 524 Mission townhomes, Highway 101 Gap Closure Sound
Wall, United Market Mixed -Use Building, Northgate Mall renovation, Peacock
Gap Golf & Country Club renovation, 33 San Pablo condominiums, Northgate
One renovation, Northgate Mall Rite Aid, Target and countless additions to
single-family homes, commercial projects and conceptual review items; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure on the Design Review Board, Dick has also provided insightful
input on long-range planning projects including the Canalfront Conceptual
Design and the City's Water Efficient Landscape and Green Building ordinances;
and
WHEREAS, Dick's participation on the Design Review Board was characterized by his
thoughtful preparation for meetings, his detailed review and comment on
projects, and his deep and sincere interest in improving the physical qualities of
the City of San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby extend their sincere appreciation for the contribution Dick Olmsted has made to the
betterment of the community and its residents.
