RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL APPROVING THE ADDITION OF A NEW JOB
CLASSIFICATION FOR ASSISTANT PUBLIC WORKS
DIRECTOR AND DELETION OF A JOB CLASSIFICATION
FOR PRINCIPAL CIVIL ENGINEER POSITION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows:
WHEREAS, the City has need of an Assistant Public Works Director to oversee an
expanded engineering division; and
WHEREAS, the position of Principal Civil Engineer would no longer be needed as the
duties could be reassigned to a new Assistant Public Works Director; and
WHEREAS, an in-house promotion for the Assistant Public Works Director may result
in an additional position in Public Works to be vacated.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San
Rafael approves (1) the creation of the Assistant Public Works Director job classification and the
recruitment for said position and (2) the deletion of the Principal Civil Engineer position.
I, ESTHER C. BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council of said City held on Monday, the 2"d day of March, 2009 by the following vote, to wit:
