WHEREAS, Eric Huot is proud to be a member of the San Rafael Police Department. He is patient
and courteous even in the most trying situations, and he has a positive attitude that is
contagious to those around him. Eric always has positive, upbeat things to say about the
San Rafael Police Department and his co-workers; and
WHEREAS, Eric came to San Rafael after working over twenty years for the Fairfax Police
Department as an Officer and Sergeant. He brought a wealth of experience and new
ideas with him to San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Eric, as a trained Field Evidence Technician, used a new system to identify the suspect in
a robbery of a local toy store. This identification resulted in showing that the suspect was
also involved in thirteen other armed robberies throughout the Bay Area. Eric worked
with other members of the San Rafael Police Department and through hard work many
cases were solved using the fingerprint identification system; and
WHEREAS, Eric exemplifies commitment to the community. His assigned beat is the Canal
neighborhood and Eric takes Spanish classes at the junior college, so he can better
communicate with the people he serves. He goes above and beyond to ensure that he can
clearly communicate with the residents in the Canal neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, Eric is a firm believer in teamwork. He routinely shows up to help other Officers without
having to be asked. He volunteers for extra assignments and is willing to work holidays
so that other Officers can have time off to be with their families; and
WHEREAS, Eric is always willing to extend himself to the benefit of others and he truly performs
above and beyond what is required of him. His ever-present smile and words of
encouragement for everyone make for a great work atmosphere. Eric is one of those rare
people that co-workers are lucky to know and work with.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby
designate Eric Huot as the "Employee of the Quarter" for the fourth quarter of 2008, and express sincere
appreciation for his dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service to the City of San Rafael.
