CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOUTION OF 11PPRECUITION
TO
BILL CARNEY
WHEREAS, on April 7, 2008, Bill Carney was appointed by the San Rafael City
Council to serve on the Land Use, Transportation, Urban Forest
and Green Building Green Team as part of the Climate Change
Action Plan project; and
WHEREAS, the Land Use, Transportation, Urban Forest and Green Building
Green Team was a critical part of the planning process, identifying
the top related climate change issues, reviewing the 300 plus
Vision ideas for viable City implementation actions, and developing
program priorities to address climate change; and
WHEREAS, Bill volunteered at
helpful contributor
document; and
the Climate Action Open House, and was a
to the draft Climate Change Action Plan
WHEREAS, the Green Team's work to prepare for the Vision Green Workshop
and the Climate Action Open House was essential to the planning
work by the Green Ribbon Committee, resulting in a
comprehensive and intentional document that focuses City actions
and inspires the community to action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael hereby commend Bill Carney for his knowledge about climate change, his
insights about needed actions, and his enthusiasm for bringing about an improved
quality of life in our town, on behalf of the community and the City of San Rafael.
