CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOWITION DF 11PPREEIRTION
TO
DON MAGDANZ
WHEREAS, on April 7, 2008, Don Magdanz was appointed by the San Rafael City
Council to serve on the Green Ribbon Committee as part of the Climate
Change Action Plan project; and
WHEREAS, the Green Ribbon Committee was responsible for developing the
program priorities to address climate change which it did in collaboration
with four Green Teams and the community -at -large; and,
WHEREAS, the Green Ribbon Committee hosted a Vision Green Workshop and the
Climate Action Open House, learned about greenhouse gas emission
sources in San Rafael, established a target for emission reductions by
2020, and agreed on a list of priority actions the City of San Rafael
should pursue to address climate change; and,
WHEREAS, Don also served on the Land Use, Transportation, Urban Forest and
Green Building Green Team; and
WHEREAS, the Green Ribbon Committee's work resulted in a comprehensive and
intentional document that focuses City actions and inspires the
community to action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby commend Don Magdanz for his knowledge about climate change, his insights
about needed actions, and his enthusiasm for bringing about an improved quality of life in our
town, on behalf of the community and the City of San Rafael.
