CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESMUTION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
ELLEN OBSTLER
WHEREAS, on April 7, 2008, Ellen Obstler was appointed by the San Rafael City
Council to serve on the Adaptation/Sea Level Rise Team Green Team
as part of the Climate Change Action Plan project; and
WHEREAS, the Adaptation/Sea Level Rise Team Green Team was a critical part of
the planning process, identifying the top related climate change issues,
reviewing the 300 plus Vision ideas for viable City implementation
actions, and developing program priorities to address climate change;
and
WHEREAS, Ellen was also a presenter at the Vision Green Workshop, and helped
staff the "Our Environment" Station at the Climate Action Open House;
and
WHEREAS, the Green Team's work to prepare for the Vision Green Workshop and
the Climate Action Open House was essential to the planning work by the
Green Ribbon Committee, resulting in a comprehensive and intentional
document that focuses City actions and inspires the community to action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby commend Ellen Obstler for her knowledge about climate change, her insights
about needed actions, and her enthusiasm for bringing about an improved quality of life in our
town, on behalf of the community and the City of San Rafael.
