A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
TO PURCHASE A PORTABLE EMERGENCY GENERATOR
WHEREAS, a portable emergency generator is an essential component of
the City's critical flood control pumping stations and emergency operations, essential to
the protection of public health and safety; and
WHEREAS, the City no longer owns a portable emergency generator
because its generator has failed beyond reasonable repair; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has solicited bids for a
replacement generator from three vendors and the lowest responsive bid from Peterson
Tractor Company is in the amount of $100,710.39; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has the funds available in its
current operating budget to purchase this piece of equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
San Rafael that the Public Works Department is hereby authorized to purchase a portable
emergency generator from Peterson Tractor Company in the amount of $100,710.39.
I, ESTHER C. BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
Council of said City on the 215 day of April, 2008, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Brockbank, Connolly, Heller, Miller & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
