RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO SUBMIT AN
APPLICATION FOR $933,646 IN FY 07-08 PROPOSITION 1B FUNDS AND TO
ADOPT THE SAN RAFAEL PROPOSITION 1B STREETS AND ROADS
PROGRAM BUDGET.
WHEREAS, San Rafael is eligible for $933,646 in Fiscal Year 2007-2008
Proposition 113 funds that can be used for traditional roadway maintenance projects; and
WHEREAS, governing bodies must formally authorize staff to submit an
application for Proposition 1 B funds and also must adopt a Proposition 1 B Streets and
Roads program budget; and
WHEREAS, Public Works proposes to utilize Proposition 1 B funds to
supplement the upcoming annual street resurfacing project, tentatively budgeted at
$1,100,000; and
WHEREAS, with Council's approval, the addition of $933,646 in Proposition 1 B
funding will bring the upcoming street resurfacing budget to $2,033,646.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
San Rafael authorizes the Director of Public Works to submit an application for FY 2007-
2008 Proposition 1 B funds and adopts the Proposition 1 B Streets and Roads budget.
I, ESTHER C. BEIRNE, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted
at a regular meeting of the Council of said City held on the 5`h day of May, 2008,
by the following vote, to wit:
