RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
APPROVING THE HOLIDAY PARKING PROGRAM.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City wishes to encourage patronage of businesses in San Rafael; and,
WHEREAS, convenient access to businesses and inexpensive parking encourage retail
activity and attract shoppers; and,
WHEREAS, the Business Improvement District Board unanimously endorsed
recommendations for improvement of the City's Holiday Parking Program and year-round
provision of parking services; and,
WHEREAS, parking validation programs have been proven to be an effective way to
reduce the cost of retail customer parking; and,
WHEREAS, City gated parking facilities are equipped to accept parking validations as
payment for parking.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Parking Services Manager is
authorized implement the Holiday Parking Program.
I, ESTHER C. BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council of said City held on the 19th day of May 2008 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Brockbank, Connolly, Heller, Miller & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
