San Rafael Design Review Board
WHEREAS, Ann Crew was appointed to the San Rafael Design Review Board on
September 8, 1998 and served on the Design Review Board for nearly ten years; and
WHEREAS, Ann served as Chair of the Design Review Board twice; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure, the Design Review Board reviewed many important projects
which will positively impact the City for many decades including Vista Marin, the Lofts at
Albert Park, Redwood Village, McInnis Apartments, Chapel Cove, the Alma Via and
Aldersley assisted living projects, Lincoln Mews, Capri Condominiums, the Fasken office
project, 4300 Redwood Highway, Toyota Marin, Team GM dealership, 1203-1211 Lincoln
condominiums, the Trinity Church subdivision, 171-181 Third Street, Extended Stay
America hotel, the Dominican University Recreation Center and Science Building, 820 D
Street condominiums, 524 Mission townhomes, 1867 Lincoln apartments, rehabilitation of
the San Rafael Improvement Club building, upgrades to the Marin Academy campus,
expansion of the Pickleweed Community Center, the Loch Lomond Marina Village, Target,
Best Buy as well as countless additions to single-family homes and commercial projects; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure on the Design Review Board, Ann has also provided
insightful input on several long-range planning projects, including a rewrite of the Sign
Ordinance and the City's Design Guidelines; and
WHEREAS, Ann's participation on the Design Review Board was characterized by her
thoughtful preparation for meetings, an excellent ability to tactfully convey design direction
to applicants, and an interest in improving the physical qualities of the City of San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael hereby extend their sincere appreciation for the contribution Ann has made to the
betterment of the Community and its residents.
