A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CITY
STREETS FOR THE 4TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL,
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2008 FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 7:00 P.M.
WHEREAS, The Fourth Annual International Festival in the Canal necessitates temporary street
closures on September 7, 2008;
Street to be closed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.:
1. Alto Street from Larkspur Street to Belvedere Street.
2. Belvedere Street from Louise Street to Verdi Street
3. Tiburon Street from Market Street to Belvedere Street
WHEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has determined
and recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian and auto traffic in the
area, the above streets in the Canal area should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the date
and time described above.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That all of the above findings are true and convect;
2. That, pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code section 21101(e), for the safety and
protection of persons, both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council hereby
authorizes the temporary closure of the above listed streets for the date and time
described above.
I, ESTHER C. BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of San Rafael, held on Monday, August 18th, 2008, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Brockbank, Connolly, Heller, Miller & Mayor Boro
NOES: Councilmembers: None
ABSENT: Councilmembers: None
