RESOLUTION OF i1PPRECIRTION
TO
JAY ZLOTNICK
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF BUCKELEW PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, Jay Zlotnick has been Executive Director of Buckelew Programs for thirty years; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure at Buckelew Programs, he has guided the organization to be one of
the premier organizations to enhance the self-sufficiency and improve the quality of
life for adults with a mental illness in Marin, Napa and Sonoma Counties; and
WHEREAS, Jay has advocated for the rights of people with chronic mental illness to live as part of
the community, and has led Buckelew Programs to become a leading provider of
rental housing to achieve that goal; and
WHEREAS, Jay and the Buckelew family have provided for the long term enhancement of the
quality of life of all Marin County residents through the annual MarinScape art show
and the sensitive rehabilitation of housing units in the community; and
WHEREAS, Jay has successfully worked in Marin County for over thirty years despite the
handicap of his New York accent and attitude, and has managed to keep the local
adult tennis community on its toes; and
WHEREAS, Jay has provided leadership to make Buckelew Programs an invaluable community
asset agency that provides many beneficial services for individuals to be successful
and productive in the San Rafael community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby commend Jay Zlotnick for his years of exemplary service to the residents of the City of San
Rafael and express sincere appreciation for his efforts in the community.
