CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESMUTION DF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
MARIN BUILDERS ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, Marin Builders Association (MBA), with over 1,000 member firms, has served the
construction industry since 1958 by promoting high ethical and professional standards,
providing quality services to their members, and working responsibly with the
community for the enhancement of the building industry; and
WHEREAS, MBA provides its members access to quality group healthcare, 24/7 access to the MBA
Electronic Online Plan Room, informative seminars and educational training, networking
opportunities, and legislative analysis and representation for local and state government
to advance building industry concerns; and
WHEREAS, MBA provides expert guidance to city, county, and state governments on building and
development policies and has dedicated itself to improving the public's understanding of
the construction industry; and
WHEREAS, MBA is a certified Green Business and was the 2005 recipient of
the Marin Economic Commission's `Environmental Values and Resources
Award of Excellence'; and
WHEREAS, since 1996, MBA has been working with the Marin County School to
Career Partnership to provide top quality architecture, engineering, and
construction job shadowing opportunities for students in Marin County.
Through its Marin Builders Association Scholarship Program, MBA has
awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to deserving students; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael was pleased when MBA relocated its headquarters and chose to
stay in San Rafael. The MBA and the City have partnered over the years in a
collaborative way that has benefited the San Rafael community and the MBA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of
San Rafael hereby commend the Marin Builders Association for 50 years of commitment and service to its members
and the Marin community.
