HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 12217 (Federal Financial Assistance; Citizen Preparedness)RESOLUTION 12217 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBTAINING FEDERAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE CITIZEN PREPAREDNESS AND PARTICIPATION GRANTS ADMINISTERED BY CALIFORNIAVOLUNTEERS — OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR. WHEREAS, the CaliforniaVolunteers — Office of the Governor has made Citizen Preparedness Participation Grants available to the City of San Rafael; and WHEREAS, this money is designed to be spent to support Citizen Preparedness; and WHEREAS, the State requires the City of San Rafael to designate individuals to apply for these funds and execute subsequent contracts; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and Assistant City Manager are the individuals who are authorized by the San Rafael Municipal Code to enter into contracts and authorize expenditures; and WHEREAS, the Emergency Services Manager and the Fire Chief are the most knowledgeable of programmatic, requirements and cost of program expense, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DOES RESOLVE, That the City Council authorizes the City Manager, the Assistant City Manager, the Fire Chief and the Emergency Services Manager to execute on behalf of the City any actions necessary for the purpose of obtaining federal financial assistance through the citizen preparedness and participation grants administered by CaliforniaVolunteers — Office of the Governor. I, Jeanne M. Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Rafael, held on Monday, the 19th of March, 2007, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Miller, Phillips and Mayor Boro NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen and Heller Z-444'- Je4lWne M.
