RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THREE HOURS FREE PARKING IN CITY PARKING
FACILITIES LOCATED AT 1550 FOURTH STREET AND AT GARDEN
LANE AND FIFTH AVENUE BETWEEN THE DATES OF NOVEMBER 23,
2007 AND DECEMBER 31, 2007.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City wishes to encourage patronage of businesses in San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, convenient access to businesses and inexpensive parking encourage retail
activity and attract shoppers; and
WHEREAS, businesses located on the east and west ends of the Downtown San
Rafael business district lack close access to gated parking facilities where validations for free
parking may be issued; and
WHEREAS, the City operates metered surface lots at 1550 Fourth Street and at
Garden Lane and Fifth Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Parking Services Manager is
authorized to provide free parking for up to three hours per day, per vehicle at City parking lots
located at 1550 Fourth Street and at Garden Lane and Fifth Avenue between the dates of
November 23, 2007 and December 31, 2007.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of
the City Council of said City held on 15'h day of October, 2007 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Heller, Miller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
