CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
SOWUTION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
Kaiser Permanente
San Rafael Medical Center
San Rafael Police AN Program
, the City of San Rafael recognizes that sudden cardiac arrest is a public
that is the number one killer of San Rafael'residents; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael recognizes that the American Heart Association
"chain -of -survival" to help victims of sudden cardiac arrest includes the following links:
early access to the emergency medical services system by calling 911, early
cardiopulmonary resuscitation, early defibrillation, and early advanced cardiovascular
care; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael recognizes that to make early defibrillation possible
an automated external defibrillator (AED) must be immediately available to police
personnel because they are on patrol 24 hours a day and are usually the first to respond to
a 911 emergency; and
WHEREAS, Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center demonstrated its
commitment to the survival of its fellow community members by providing medical
direction to the San Rafael Police Department AED Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of San Rafael hereby express their sincere appreciation to Kaiser Permanente
San Rafael Medical Center for its contribution to the health and safety of the residents of
San Rafael.
