A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF CITY STREETS FOR THE 19TH ANNUAL
GREG BORRELLI'S MAY MADNESS
CLASSIC CAR PARADE ON MAY 20, 2006
WHEREAS, the 19`h Annual Greg Borrelli's May Madness Classic Car Parade necessitates the temporary
closure of city streets on May 20, 2006 as specified below:
1. "A" Street from Parking Structure driveway to Fifth Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
2. Julia Street from "A" Street to "B" Street 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
3. Fourth Street between Lootens and "A" Street from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. for stage setup and take
down.
4. Fourth Street from Lincoln to "D" Street from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
5. Cijos from South of Cormnercial to Fourth Street from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
6. Lootens from Third Street to Apartment Building driveway from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
7. `B" Street from Parking Structure driveway to Fifth Avenue from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
8. "C" Street from Parking Structure driveway to Fifth Avenue from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
WIIEREAS, after reviewing plans for the event and the traffic patterns, City staff has determined and
recommended that, in the interest of the safety and welfare of pedestrian and auto traffic in the downtown area,
the above streets should be temporarily closed to through traffic for the dates and times described above.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That all of the above findings are true and correct;
2. That, pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code section 21101(e), for the safety and protection of
persons, both pedestrians and vehicle drivers, the City Council hereby authorizes the temporary
closure of the above listed streets for the dates and times described above.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Rafael,
held on Monday, the sixth day of March, 2006, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Cohen, Heller, Miller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
NOES: Councilmembers: None
