HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 11968 (FPPC Disclosure Categories)RESOLUTION NO. 11968 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL NOTICING REVIEW OF THE CITY`S CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE, DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVISE CITY DEPARTMENTS TO REVIEW THE LIST OF DESIGNATED POSITIONS AND DISCLOSURE CATEGORIES AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE ANY NECESSARY REVISIONS TO SAID CODE. WHEREAS, Government Code Section 87300 requires every public agency in California to adopt a Conflict of Interest Code and Section 87306 requires each agency to review, and if necessary, amend its conflict of interest code every other (each even) year; and WHEREAS, Government Code Section 87306.5 requires every public agency to provide notice of its bi-annual review; and WHEREAS, the bi-annual review of the City's conflict of interest code requires the various departments of the City to review the current list of designated positions and disclosure categories to determine if any revisions are necessary; and WHEREAS, if revisions to the Conflict of Interest Code are necessary, the City Attorney would be responsible for preparing and presenting said revisions to the Council for adoption prior to October 1, 2006. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby: 1. Gives notice that its Conflict of Interest Code is to be reviewed and, if necessary, revised on or before October 1, 2006 pursuant to the provisions of State law. 2. Directs the City Clerk to advise all City departments to review the current list of designated positions and disclosure categories to determine if any revisions are necessary and to provide said revisions to the City Clerk. 3. Directs the City Attorney, prior to October 1, 2006, to prepare and to present to the City Council for adoption any necessary revisions to the City's Conflict of Interest Code. If no revisions are necessary, the City Clerk shall so advise the City Council. 1 I, Jeanne M.
