HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 12030 (Purchase Police Vehicles)RESOLUTION 12030 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF THREE MARKED AND THREE UNMARKED POLICE VEHICLES FROM FOLSOM LAKE FORD SALES IN THE AMOUNT OF $144,153.39, AND EIGHT UNMARKED PONTIAC POLICE VEHICLES FROM COALINGA MOTORS, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $132.784.50, AS PART OF CALIFORNIA MULTIPLE AWARD SCHEDULE CONTRACTS PROGRAM WHICH IS EXEMPT FROM BID PROCESS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, three marked and eleven unmarked Police Department vehicles are at their replacement time frames; and WHEREAS, there are adequate funds in the City's Vehicle Replacement Fund to purchase replacement vehicles; and WHEREAS, the Fleet Advisory Board has reviewed bid documents and vehicle life information and supports replacement of the vehicles in question; and WHEREAS, the City, as a participant in the California Multiple Award Schedule Contracts program, also known as State Bids, is exempt from competitive bidding requirements for these vehicles under San Rafael Municipal Code Section 2.55.260; and WHEREAS, Folsom Lake Ford and Coalinga Motors, Inc. are the current approved dealers for the California Multiple Award Schedule Contracts program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the bids from Folsom Lake Ford Sales for three marked and three unmarked Ford vehicles at the specified unit prices totaling $144,153.39 and from Coalinga Motors, Inc. for eight unmarked Pontiac vehicles at the specified unit prices totaling $132,784.50 are hereby accepted and that the purchase orders for said vehicles in those amounts are hereby approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is hereby authorized to take any and all such actions and make changes as may be necessary to accomplish the purpose of this Resolution. I, JEANNE M.
