RUTH DONOHUGH
WHEREAS, Ruth Donohugh has been active in San Rafael as a business owner of Picante
Restaurant, and has worked for many years with programs at the Canal
Ministry, the Canal Alliance, and the local schools; and
WHEREAS, in September, 2005, Ruth was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to
the Canal Stakeholder Committee, which was charged with preparing a
recommended Transportation Plan for the Canal neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, Ruth served as a representative of the business owners in the Canal, and of
property owners in the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, in addition to attending the Stakeholder Committee meetings, Ruth assisted
as a host at the Open House events sponsored by the Stakeholder Committee;
and
WHEREAS, Ruth dedicated a year to a community-based planning effort to working with
Canal residents and business leaders to identify transportation concerns and
recommended improvements that will improve the quality of life in the
Canal neighborhood.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Ruth Donohugh for her substantial contributions to
prepare the Canal Transportation Plan
