RESOLUTION NO. 12048
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
MARIA A. RODRIQUEZ
WHEREAS, Maria A. Rodriquez has been active in San Rafael as a 15 -year resident of
the Canal Neighborhood, helping with the Dia de los Muertos exhibits,
activities of the Canal Welcome Center, and the Pickleweed health fairs
sponsored by the County; and
WHEREAS, in September, 2005, Maria was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to
the Canal Stakeholder Committee, which was charged with preparing a
recommended Transportation Plan for the Canal neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, Maria served as a representative of the residents in the Canal neighborhood,
sharing her knowledge of the issues of people who work, walk and drive in
the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, in addition to attending the Stakeholder Committee meetings, Maria assisted
as a host at the Open House events sponsored by the Stakeholder Committee;
and
WHEREAS, Maria dedicated a year to a community-based planning effort to working
with Canal residents and business leaders to identify transportation concerns
and recommended improvements that will improve the quality of life in the
Canal neighborhood.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Maria A. Rodriquez for her substantial contributions to
prepare the Canal Transportation Plan.
