TOM WILSON
Tom Wilson has been active in San Rafael, having worked for over 14 years
as Co -Executive Director of the Canal Alliance, a community-based
organization in the Canal neighborhood; and
in September, 2005, Tom was appointed by the San Rafael City Council to
the Canal Stakeholder Committee, which was charged with preparing a
recommended Transportation Plan for the Canal neighborhood; and
Tom served as an advocate for the residents in the Canal neighborhood,
sharing his knowledge of the issues of parents who walk, bike and drive in
the neighborhood; and
Tom dedicated a year to a community-based planning effort to working with
Canal residents and business leaders to identify transportation concerns and
recommended improvements that will improve the quality of life in the
Canal neighborhood.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Tom Wilson for his substantial contributions to prepare
the Canal Transportation Plan.
