RESOLUTION NO. 12050
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOMITION OF 11PPREEIRTION
WHEREAS,
TO
DR. BEVERLY YATES
Dr. Beverly Yates has been active in San Rafael as a four-year resident of
the Canal neighborhood, a frequent visitor with her family to Pickleweed
Park, and a parent of two young children; and
in September, 2005, Beverly was appointed by the San Rafael City Council
to the Canal Stakeholder Committee, which was charged with preparing a
recommended Transportation Plan for the Canal neighborhood; and
Beverly served as a representative of the residents in the Canal
neighborhood, sharing her knowledge of the issues of parents who walk, bike
and drive in the neighborhood; and
in addition to attending the Steering Committee meetings, Beverly served as
Co -Chair of the Stakeholder Committee; and
WHEREAS, Beverly dedicated a year to a community-based planning effort to working
with Canal residents and business leaders to identify transportation concerns
and recommended improvements that will improve the quality of life in the
Canal neighborhood.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby express
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Beverly Yates for her substantial contributions to
prepare the Canal Transportation Plan.
