HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 12130 (Purchase 3 Motorcycles)RESOLUTION 12130 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AWARDING THE PURCHASE OF THREE HARLEY DAVIDSON FLHTP ELECTRA GLIDE POLICE MOTORCYCLES FROM GOLDEN GATE HARLEY-DAVIDSON & BUELL IN THE AMOUNT OF $58,356.29. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, unit#207, a marked Police Department motorcycle has met the replacement time frames; and WHEREAS, there are adequate funds in the City's Vehicle Replacement Fund to purchase a replacement of unit#207; and WHEREAS, the Police Department has obtained an Office of Traffic Safety Grant that will pay for the purchase of two additional new motorcycles; and WHEREAS, the Fleet Advisory Board has reviewed bid documents and vehicle life information and supports replacement of the vehicle in question; and WHEREAS, on Tuesday, the 19th day of September, 2006, pursuant to due and legal notice published in the manner provided by law, inviting sealed bids or proposals for the work hereinafter mentioned, as more fully appears from the Affidavit of Publication thereof on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, California, the City Clerk of said City did publicly open, examine and declare all sealed bids or proposals for doing the following work in said City, to wit: THREE (3) 2007 HARLEY DAVIDSON FLHTP ELECTRA GLIDE POLICE MOTORCYCLES PROJECT NO. 600-44-46001-9270 0 1' `­�AL �0 In accordance with the plans and specifications therefore on file in the office of said City Clerk; and WHEREAS, the bid of Golden Gate Harley-Davidson & Buell, at the unit prices stated in its bid was and is the lowest and best bid for said work and said bidder is the lowest responsible bidder therefore; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the bid from Golden Gate Harley- Davidson & Buell, and the same is hereby accepted at said unit prices and that the purchase order for said work be and the same is hereby awarded to Golden Gate Harley-Davidson & Buell, at the unit prices mentioned in said bid. I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on the 2nd day of October, 2006, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Heller, Miller, Phillips and Mayor Boro NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen JEANNE M.
