RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING PARKING VALIDATIONS REDEEMABLE FOR THREE
HOURS FREE PARKING IN CITY GARAGES AT 3RD & C STREETS AND
3RD &A STREETS BETWEEN THE DATES OF NOVEMBER 22, 2006
AND DECEMBER 31, 2006.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City desires to encourage patronage of businesses in San
Rafael; and,
WHEREAS, convenient access to businesses and inexpensive parking
encourage retail activity and attract shoppers; and,
WHEREAS, parking validation programs have been proven, in other cities, to be
an effective way to reduce the cost of parking and to be popular with shoppers; and,
WHEREAS, City gated parking facilities are equipped to accept parking
validations as payment for parking;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Parking Services Manager is
authorized to disseminate to merchants operating retail establishments in the Business
Improvement District validations redeemable in City parking garages located at 3'd & A
Streets and 3rd & C Streets for up to three hours free parking. Such validations will be
redeemable between the dates of November 22, 2006 and December 31, 2006.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of said City held on 6t' day of November, 2006 by the
following vote, to wit:
